In 2000, after working four years in the restaurant business, I decided to focus solely on pastries, attending Pennsylvania Culinary Institute of Arts. After interning at The Bertram Inn and Conference Center where I was introduced to fine dining cuisine and elaborate desserts, I went on to work at the four diamond restaurant, Lockkeepers as the Pastry Sous Chef. Shortly thereafter, I was given the opportunity to become the Executive Pastry Chef, and had maintained that title for over six years. During that time, I over saw the restaurant change to Dante and it's concept to contemporary American cuisine. As the Executive Pastry Chef I have had the good fortune to receive numerous accolades from the press for my talents for flavor combinations to creative plate designs to artistic cakes. As my dream of owning a pastry shop comes true, I will continue to bring all of my knowledge and innovative creativity to A Cookie and a Cupcake as it grows into the future.

Since the age of 18, I have had a successful custom cake and pastry business, called Indulgence. I have built this business by staying committed to quality and being innovative. I intend to continue my devotion to quality and creativity with my partnership at A Cookie and a Cupcake.
In 1999, I graduated from Pennsylvania Institute of Culinary Arts, interned at Disney World, and continued to develop my skills and knowledge in local restaurants, either as an Executive Chef, Sous Chef, or Manager.
Most recently, I was the pastry assistant at Lockkeeper's/Dante where I was recognized for my creative and great tasting pastries over four years. In addition, an invitation to become the Executive Pastry Chef of Shaker Heights Country Club was given to me along with consulting at various restaurants. I continue to expand my responsibilities in menu development, quality control, as well as high volume banquet pastries. In 2006, I returned to Lockkeeper's as the pastry Sous Chef where I played a crucial role in pastry production and development of plated desserts and menus.
Today I am living my dream of having a pastry shop where I can continue to bring the customer great cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and many other creative sweets.
